# Upgrading Node Gallery from Drupal 6 to Drupal 7
Please read through all of these instructions before you begin. Upgrading your
Node Gallery tables to Drupal 7 format requires that you follow these steps
in the correct order.
1. Before upgrading your Drupal 6 website, disable the Node Gallery module.
2. Upgrade your Drupal 6 website to Drupal 7 as described here:
http://drupal.org/documentation/upgrade/6/7
3. After upgrading to Drupal 7, install the CCK Content Migrate Module and
upgrade your Node Gallery image fields as described here:
http://drupal.org/node/1144136
4. Once your fields are migrated, download Node Gallery for Drupal 7. DO NOT
ENABLE IT.
5. Run update.php before enabling Node Gallery or Node Gallery API. This will
upgrade your tables to the Drupal 7 format. If you have a lot of galleries
and/or images, this could take awhile.
6. Once the database conversion is complete, the upgrade process will enable
the Node Gallery API and Node Gallery modules.
7. If you customized your Node Gallery views for Drupal 6, you will need to
re-apply your changes. The default views have changed significantly to
accommodate mixed-media galleries, so your custom views may no longer be
valid. You can adjust the views in the normal Views admin interface, and
select them for use on the Node Gallery relationship type settings page.
